Why Should I Upgrade?

Automated Backup is Essential

When Digital Jacket imports or receives DICOM files, it processes each file and saves the data into its database. The files are not saved within Digital Jacket as DICOM. They must be converted to DICOM when they are exported to disk, retransmitted or burned to CD.

This means that unless you are performing periodic backups that if Digital Jacket's database were to become corrupted you will not be able to reconstruct data from the damaged archive.

Because backup procedures vary from institution to institution, we have updated Digital Jacket 5.0 to include its own automated DICOM backup server. Now with Digital Jacket 5.0, you can setup rules to backup your database to external DICOM files, as well as prune your archives of older data.

DesAcc strongly recommends the upgrade to Digital Jacket 5.0 for safely archiving your data as external DICOM files.
